On a whim my wife and I decided to visit Yosemite National Park during Spring Break. I haven’t been since I was a kid and my wife had never been. I had no idea that camp sites are reserved 5 months in advance, so everyday we participated in a first come lottery situation to secure a camp site for the next night. It’s definitely not ideal for people looking to do long day hikes. I highly recommend securing a site before making the journey to the most beautiful valley in the world. Having to pack and load all of our camping gear every morning was exhausting, but totally worth it. Two days before we arrived the road to Glacier Point opened, which is extremely rare because the road usually doesn’t open up for another month or so. The day we arrived we headed straight to Glacier Point and enjoyed one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to hit the road again. Happy Earth Day!
