I reached out to Jenni Grubba Events for her advice on why you should hire a wedding planner. I notice a big difference between weddings with and without a wedding planner involved. I thought it might be useful hearing from an expert for couples struggling to decide if they should or shouldn’t hire a wedding planner for their wedding day.

What would be the best time to hire a wedding planner? At the very beginning of the process? Once you have vendors? BEFORE you become overwhelmed. This is different for everyone and most planners offer a few different services base on what you need help with. If you know you aren’t going to have the time to commit to the planning process (and boy is it a process), you should start looking for someone you connect with right away.

What the #1 reason why a couple hires a wedding planner? Is it to minimize stress? I find that most of my clients come to me because they simply don’t have the time they need to plan a successful event. A lot of time and money goes into a wedding and it’s important that you’re making decisions in your right (unstressed) mind. A planner can take a lot of that leg work that takes so long away and present your options to you in an organized fashion.

Some couples might think they can do everything themselves and because of budget restrictions would never hire a wedding planner. Is this a huge mistake or can a planner actually save you money? Well I’m a little biased, but I have never had anyone tell me they regretted having a wedding planner. In fact, “worth every penny” and “would have died without them” are the feedback I’ve gotten.

On the day of the wedding, how does a planner actually help out? Is it really worth the money? Weddings with planners always run more smoothly and on time. The right planner will make sure every little piece is falling into its intended place. The wedding will run more smoothly and on-time from a logistical standpoint. If something is happening with a vendor, you as the couple won’t know about it. Your planner will troubleshoot any issue and resolve it before you know anything is out of place. Your planner will run point on all set up and tear down. They will make sure your gifts are safe. They will make sure you don’t have to worry about a thing on your big day. And, if we’re talking about me (Jenni Grubba Events), I’ll make sure Grandma has her coffee after dinner, but before desert.
