Ryan and Rory’s St. Lucia Windjammer Landing wedding was an absolute blast. Destination weddings are always enjoyable because family gets to be together at the resort for a few days as oppose to trying to squeeze everything in on the wedding day. Family and guests seem to have a better time because the wedding is a mini holiday for them. I was thrilled when Ryan and Rory told me they wanted to hire me for their Saint Lucia wedding because I’ve never been and they are a really fun couple to hangout with. The day before their wedding we squeezed in a quick “engagement session” at Piegon Island National Park. We were lucky to avoid the rain, which poured down soon after we finished the session. The day of the wedding I was extremely worried we would have raining weather. The forecast wasn’t looking ideal and as we got closer to the ceremony time the cloud cover was getting scary close. Tropical destination weddings are always a little more stressful for me because I know from first hand experience tropical torrential downpour can sneak up on you very fast. Just like the day before we were lucky to avoid a downpour. We had a little rain after the ceremony, but nothing we couldn’t avoid with the shuttle van and umbrellas. We wondered throughout the Windjammer Landing property for the couple photos before heading back down to the reception space. One of my favorite parts of Ryan and Rory’s wedding was the singer they brought from the UK. One night they had a few too many drinks at a local pub and asked if he would consider being their wedding singer to their surprise he gladly accepted. I would describe him as a one man band, however he put on a better show than any wedding band I’ve seen in the US of A.
