I’ve captured a handful of Roberts Regional Park weddings in Oakland, CA. Andrew and Lindsay’s was everything you could possibly want for your celebration. Intimate weddings are extra special to me for a few reasons. I eloped with my wife and intimate weddings always make me think of my own wedding. From my own personal experience intimate weddings are more emotional. I think most couples feel more free to express their emotions in front of a smaller immediate family audience. Intimate weddings seem to be stress free because it’s about the couple and not the necessity of putting on a “show” for a big guest list. Also, I think intimate weddings are more likely to be stress free because the bride and groom are doing exactly what they wanted for their wedding day. Lindsay and Andy’s wedding is my new favorite wedding I’ve shot at Roberts Regional Park because the light was perfect, the location of the ceremony space they picked, and the Sturgill Simpson song they played for their first dance. I highly recommend listening to the song the promise. Every year I’m lucky enough to shoot 2 or 3 weddings at this beautiful wedding spot in Oakland, so I look forward to hearing from more Bay Area couples in 2018 and their visions for the unique outdoor space. I’m pretty sure it’s one of the few places close to San Francisco that you can get hitched under gorgeous Redwoods. Every out of town wedding guest is blown away by the beautfiul park.
