I’ve been wanting to capture a Montgomery Woods engagement session ever since I discovered this beautiful Mendocino County State Park. Montgomery Woods State Reserve Natural Reserve is a thirty minute drive from Ukiah, California. It’s an ideal location to hike among remarkable groves of redwoods. There’s a two mile long loop that starts with a steep beginning. I had a blast capturing Vincent and Audrey’s Montgomery Woods engagement session. It’s one of the few places I recommend scheduling a mid day session due to the redwoods being in a valley. It starts to get dark quickly once the sun disappears behind the mountain and becomes difficult to capture the beauty of the reserve. One of my favorite things about this location is it’s a great place to enjoy the beautiful redwoods and avoid large crowds. I look forward to the next adventurous couple wanting to hang out with me for an afternoon and discover this unique location.
